st. marks location

So this Sunday, all of the normal activities crossed our mind, brunch, sleep, movies, sleep, eat, etc…But THIS time around, a little need for discipline and exercise took over. We remembered this yoga studio we used to attend and decided to catch the 12pm class. What makes this yoga studio so nice is the no pressure, donation based system, and the Beautiful studios they occupy in a building on st marks. They have two other locations, and one opening in Williamsburg. Some of the spaces also offer HOT yoga. Make no mistake, its not for the person who doesn’t like human contact because the space can get quite full. But that’s what makes it SBNY approved. It brings you closer to people in a very open and stress free way, unlike the L train at rush hour.
A little tip, go to the St marks location and show up close to but before start time, and you will be sent to the studios on the higher floors. These studios are even more gorgeous, and for an Extreme Snuggle try the candle lit session.

“Life is better with Company”.. good flick! On THIS tuesday’s movie adventure, we attempted to check Sherlock Holmes, but it was SOLD OUT!. So, we bought tix to NINE thinking oh we’ll just slide into Holmes anyway. No such luck, ticket guy at the entrance to the theater. Off to NINE we go, walked out after the first 10 minutes realizing this was not going to be worth the hours of our life, and headed next door to see “up in the air”.. Perfect! Seats waiting for us like they were on V.I.P. reserve by two girls’ enourmous sleeping bag size coats.. After they moved their coats like the velvet rope, the viewing began. This movie gets a SBNY Certification for the way it explores human connection, real world/ non-cyber interaction, fidelity, and the over all appreciation we should have or seek to find in life, family, friends, and lovers… we like

New Perspectives: Been to Long Island City many times before for the Water Taxi Beach parties, but never saw it from this angle. Public displays of affection and film crews are already commonplace here because of the neighborhood’s quite streets. Now, add the residential high rises and how could you not want to snuggle up to this area .

philly1 On the Metropolitan Ave subway stop in Williamsburg Brooklyn, I heard a very moving sound. This mans voice is one of those that you just can’t deny.
So I left the stop, didn’t get a CD or anything and couldn’t remember his name. Some time passed then I saw him again yesterday, put the name down and promised I would connect you all with this beautiful sound. Live in the accoustics of a subway platform, this voice is amazing. Careful, you might get goosebumps…

They Deliver to most areas, but if you happen to be in Brooklyn and live outside of their delivery range, you can pick up from the front of the nondescript building they operate out of. Our favorite was the good ole fashioned Tater Tots and the Soy Ginger Wings. However, the Lamb Burger with hummus on a toaty pita rocked, and there are even delicious veggie options.

Sex: The Art of Cuddling
November 29, 2006 by Greg

For the common the man, the post coital repertoire is often comprised of leaving the room immediately, tossing a towel at her, and/or rolling over and falling asleep. This leaves the fairer sex constantly searching for deeper intimacy. We’re taking a look at the art of cuddling.
A Good Reason to Cuddle
A recent survey was conducted by sex and intimacy expert, Dr Laura Berman, evaluating emotional intimacy in 2,000 American couples. While sex is the biggest factor in predicting intimacy levels, couples who cuddle and kiss outside of the bedroom had significantly less stress and stronger emotional connections.
Purpose of Cuddling
Cuddling is about showing appreciation for your partner. It is a nurturing, communicative act, that while it may happen before or after sex, it may also exist completely on it’s own. It’s not just about sex, it’s about love, affection, tenderness, and support for your partner. It is a physical language, which allows you to communicate through your body, without words, intentions and feelings.
The sense of touch and the act of being touched are both essential to the human condition. Touching the body awakens the senses, leading in the direction of sensuality. After all, senses only work by being stimulated. The act of touching also discourages negative body images. When we touch and are touched we become more comfortable with our bodies and our partners.
Methods of Cuddling
There are two general themes in cuddling, sexual and non-sexual. A sexual cuddle awakens the senses and starts a connection with your partner. The body is slowly warmed up and physical intimacy gently escalates. This is done by shifting the focus to secondary erogenous zones like the neck, ears, fingers and toes, and of course areas like the inner thighs, buttocks, and breasts. Gently kneading and softly caressing these areas simultaneously builds both emotional and sexual intimacy.
Cuddling can also be a physically intimate act with out engaging in intercourse. This form of contact comes from touching areas that are non-sexual. This communicates the feeling of closeness, without the feeling of sexual desire. When cuddling in a non-sexual way, think of cuddling a child. Kissing the cheek, touching the arm, or running your fingers through their hair are all appropriate. Gentle massages and soft strokes let your lover know you appreciate them without the sex.
The key to all cuddling lies in the connection between your mind and your body. By letting your emotions and feelings run congruent with your physical nature, you will easily demonstrate affection for your loved one.
Cuddling and Sleeping
Cuddling while falling asleep is not the answer for everyone. Sometimes pure body mechanics makes this uncomfortable for both parties. This doesn’t rule out cuddling completely though. Just because you sleep on separate halves of the bed does not mean you can’t cuddle for a few minutes before you are ready to fall asleep. Just communicate to your partner that, for the time being, while you are sleeping apart you still want to cuddle before.
Lastly, if after reading this article you are overly excited to cuddle but don’t have a partner, you can always attend a cuddle party.

The Art of Cuddling by Lisa Weseman

From kittens and puppies to grown women and men, everyone loves a good cuddle. This style of warm embrace makes us feel a range of emotions, from safe to sensual. Whether you realize it or not, how you cuddle also matters. Whether you’re looking to relax, bond, or initiate foreplay, here are our best tips for making cuddles count.

Relaxing cuddles
A recent study showed that couples who cuddle regularly and spontaneously not only have stronger romantic relationships, they also have lower levels of personal stress. Stress often leaves your muscles tight with tension, so if you want a really relaxing cuddle session find a comfy spot where you can fully stretch out your arms and legs. One partner can lie on their back, and the other can lie on their stomach or side – with their head on their partner’s chest. For relaxing cuddles, there’s no need to embrace tightly. The desired effect will be achieved just by soaking up each other’s energy in the places where your bodies touch.

Bonding cuddles
Sometimes you need more than just relaxation – you need to re-establish chemistry with your partner. If you’ve had a fight or spent too much time apart, a bonding cuddle could be just what you need to reassure and re-energize. The traditional “spoon” method of cuddling offers the best opportunity to bond your bodies and your spirits. As the person on the outside wraps their arms tightly around the person on the inside, your bodies are connected from head to toe, essentially making them one.

Sensual cuddles
Cuddling is a very tender and intimate way of connecting with your partner, so it’s only natural that sometimes it leads to an even more intimate experience. Touching skin makes you more aware of your own body and your partner’s. Capitalizing on this heightened awareness can create some very sensual foreplay. The most intensely intimate cuddles allow you to look into your partner’s eyes while also connecting your erogenous zones. Try locking your legs around each other’s so that you are facing one another in a full-body embrace, with your arms free to touch the face softy or offer a sensual neck massage.

The type of cuddle your lover is pursuing can also be a good indicator of their needs and desires. So pay close attention during this win-win scenario.

home1We were at Central Park to hang in the grass with some buddies outside of the Cat Power Concert and wanted a drink. So, we took a walk down to the famous Boat House and pulled up to the bar. The drinks are a tad pricey but to be expected in this atmosphere.
As it turns out, the only happy hour here  is the hour you can spend captaining a boat around this picturesque lake.

Weeks later, we had almost forgotten about this great find until while discussing SBNY at a gathering of snuggler type people the other night, a woman mentioned this as an extreme snuggle activities. She created a new cateegory.

So with this Extreme Experience, you are getting food, drink, views, atmosphere, and an activity that you cannot match. There is only one place in the world where you can go to The Central Park Boat House. Thank you  NY! Although we hear this is best experienced in the fall, and so many snuggles are to be had during the winter, we are really loving summer…

Went and checked out District 9 today, which is btw a visual masterpiece for sci-fi buddies. Anyway, after leaving the west side theater I was in, I realized that I was close to the Highline Park project that I’ve been wanting to check. So I walked over and was very pleased with what I discovered. The landscaping, permanent benches, and views are snuggly indeed. Saw people literally sleeping with mouth hanging open on a couple of the patio style lounge chairs. Along the path there is a coffee stand provided by from crop to cup. A fair trade coffee operation based out of Brooklyn. And the coconut water guy selling hydrating coconuts, Not the new packaged coconut water you find in stores. At the end of the path you should walk down to the standard hotels beer garden which has very resonable cocktail prices, given the nice atmosphere provided. Top it off with a game of table tennis at one of the 2 ping pong tables in the garden. This was an experience that I encourage you all to seek out. Probably best during the week during the day or after work. Weekends are probably a little crowded.

If this is the closest you have come to seeing one it’s time for you to get back to green spaces. Here are some links to things that may help you, but if anyone has some good links please post them.
